About me
Hi, I’m Saana. At Saana Counselling, I recognise that we all go through difficult times and experience emotional distress. If you're struggling or feeling stuck, I offer a warm and safe space to explore what may be affecting your life. As a qualified child counsellor and integrative therapist, I draw on various counselling approaches to tailor our work to your unique needs. I also work as a school counsellor, helping children and young people navigate their emotions and challenges. My extensive experience includes supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, and domestic violence, to name a few and I see both adults and children in my private practice.
I understand how intimidating it can be to speak with someone new. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where I will listen to whatever you feel comfortable sharing. My goal is to help you uncover underlying issues and identify any barriers preventing you from living the life you desire. Sometimes, simply being heard can bring about powerful change, and I believe that transformation is possible, even in the most difficult situations.
I offer a free 10- to 15-minute phone consultation so you can ask any questions and determine if we’re a good fit to work together. This allows us both to discuss how we might achieve your therapy goals. If you decide to proceed, we can arrange a full assessment to further explore your needs.
Taking the first step towards therapy requires courage, and I recognise how important it is to find someone you can trust. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions, and I will respond as soon as possible

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
