About me

Counselling Welcomes You

Let’s begin with a few simple questions to jog our minds, how well do we know our ‘true self’ and do we fully understand what happens ‘within us’ or have we got lost with time and caught up in everyday pressures. Most of us experience difficulty in expressing our thoughts and emotions due to living in a society where we must portray ourselves as strong-minded individuals with minimal signs of weakness.
Counselling has been developed to create a unique talking method, where it allows individuals to come express their emotions without being judged. Counselling aims to help them find ways to overcome emotional distress. The idea of booking an appointment to see a counsellor can feel daunting and overwhelming but that is ‘ok’ and very common. The process is conducted very gently and the sessions are catered to your pace.
From personal and professional experience, I have found the use of a therapy room for counselling a ‘safe’ environment. The sessions allow you to express yourself at a deeper level exploring areas of your mind or life whereby you may have some ‘unfinished business’.

A meaningful connection

I ensure to pay close attention to the quality of relationship between me and my client. This is to make sure they feel safe and comfortable to be able to confide in me whilst working with me. I aim to seek and develop a deep, trusted and meaningful relationship with all my clients. I would like to bring to attention that the one-hour session booked by clients is purely their time and space to explore any emotions. So, what makes me different? My experience in the last five years have taught me how to be approachable in all situations, I want my clients to feel welcome and that they are able to discuss with me anything that is playing on their mind without feeling judged or disliked. I believe I am able to provide a space for my clients that is serene and calm, helping them to feel relaxed and more open to sharing their thoughts. Working together will help you understand what matters the most and uncover a truer sense of who you are.

Acceptance/ faith within

By working together, we will explore how you can best be yourself and be more acceptance of who you are. Be able to feel ready with any challenges, confusion of today’s society. In time you will feel a lot freer and lighter and seeing life as satisfying and worthwhile with greater sense of faith within, trusting oneself, acceptance of the ‘self’ and peace within.

Please feel free to give me a call to discuss how I can help you. If I’m not available please leave a brief message and I will get back to you. Alternatively, email to make an enquiry or arrange an initial assessment.

Training, qualifications & experience

Training, qualifications & experiences

I have a BACP accredited Advance Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling and I am a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy- the professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists.

My approaches to psychotherapy fall into different categories of Humanistic, Integrative, holistic, play therapy but primarily Psychodynamic. To help understand your experience from range of perspectives.

I have recently embarked on a journey into counselling children and young people, propelled by a profound empathy and a steadfast dedication to their emotional well-being. Through my interactions with them, I have realised the vital importance of providing a safe place for them to delve into their thoughts, grasp their feelings, and unearth their resilience and strengths.

As a counsellor, I envision myself as a compassionate listener and mentor, deeply committed to unravelling the intricacies of young minds and aiding them in navigating the hurdles of adolescence. Establishing a nurturing, non-judgmental atmosphere where they feel valued and understood is my main priority. My aim is to walk alongside them at their own pace as they embark on their journey of self-discovery, resilience, and personal growth.

Working with these remarkable young individuals has been both an admiration and a privilege, igniting within me a profound passion for making a positive impact in their lives.

I have over 10 years’ experience within the NHS and voluntary sectors, working with vulnerable and isolated individuals. My role involved to encourage patients to be independent, giving them the opportunity to make choices and decisions for themselves. I thoroughly enjoy my time in supporting clients who are at that lowest and bringing them back into society. Seeing them grow whilst on this journey with me is very rewarding.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
