About me
Welcome. I'm hoping you feel proud that you've been bold enough to take the first step on a counselling journey.
Being passionate about helping my client to find a better understanding of themself and what they want, I will focus on your needs and wellbeing. In a welcoming, informal space you can feel safe to explore how you feel and develop some clarity about any changes that you want to bring to your life. When you share, I'll listen, hear and gently challenge. With my support you can be in charge of your journey finding out the best way for you to feel more peaceful and in control of what's important for you. No matter how long you need me to listen, I will always cherish helping you begin that journey, staying for some of the distance or reaching your destination with you however bumpy or smooth the journey may be.
Everybody's journey is different and through my integrative training I have gathered different tools for different situations, different vehicles for different journeys. Using these empathically without judgement, I will aim to build a strong, trusting relationship with you so that you can feel safe as you travel forwards. Happy to work creatively if you find comfort in drawing, writing or imagery, you can decide how far and how fast you want to travel whilst I help steer around the roundabouts and over the crossroads until you're ready to steer by yourself.
Before I came to counselling I worked in the performing arts and educational support with those who needed a helping hand with learning and communication. Both these working experiences have shown me the importance of listening, a skill that is essential when a client feels brave enough to share information very personal to them.
If you're needing someone to listen and are feeling ready to embark on a counselling journey of understanding yourself better and making choices to inspire change, email me or give me a call and we can set up a free of charge up to half an hour chat where you can ask questions, find out details and decide if you think we'll make a good partnership.

Experience
I have experience working in agencies with young people and adults with varying needs for therapy. A lot of my time in education was spent with students who had autism and special educational needs. This work was very much about uncovering the best ways for each individual to communicate emotionally as well as physically so they could thrive, not only in their learning, but lifetime journeys. These skills I transfer to my counselling as a way of helping my client develop their uniqueness.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
