Rajan Sanger, UKCP Reg. Psychotherapist & Supervisor, FE Lecturer
45 Central Street
There may be situations in our lives we find difficult to cope with. These may be situations that cause us a lot of anxiety, distress or even depression. They may even be affecting our relationships with those who are close to us. I firmly believe counselling can help.
My approach is “person-centred”. This means I am a humanistic counsellor who’s caring and non-judgmental and who is able to help you work through your problems and give you the space you need to explore the issues that are bothering you.
I am a registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with extensive experience in education and the NHS. I provide group work for organisations and individuals who work in safeguarding and with children including social workers, care teams, foster and other organisations where young people might be the priority.
I provide a therapeutic service without the bias of age, gender, race, religion or sexual preference and orientation.
As you use sessions to talk through what you are experiencing, a therapeutic relationship will develop between us.
The start of therapy will be marked by agreeing on the boundaries of confidentiality. This will provide you with the space to talk freely about issues you may find difficult speaking to family or friends about.
My role will not be to tell you what to do. However, I will help you find a way, drawing on your own resources, to process what does come up for you.
Our work together can be short-term, with a specific objective or goal in mind, or long-term, that will enable a deeper exploration to process the origins of your distress.
I am bound by the UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy) code of ethics and subject to their professional conduct procedure.
