About me

Hello, my name is Raffaella, but everyone calls me Raffa.

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor.

I believe it is hard for anyone in these days to find oneself and/or to speak about what is going on for ourselves – in the midst of all the conflicts and confusions of the outside world.

Life challenges us with constant changes and we can feel so very often overwhelmed and that's okay too, sometimes we are only able to live one week or one day at a time, and sometimes one "breath at a time." I will provide you with a safe and non-judgemental space  for you to talk to me about your concerns, your worries as " we've learned that quiet isn't always peace" (Amanda Gorman  poem Quiet isn't always peace).

I am also able to offer clinical supervision to other fellow counsellors  at a reduced fee.

I am currently able to offer clinical supervision at low cost

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked and currently works onto the wards and clinics support  with patients directly. I believe that, aside any clinical intervention, it is also important that patients feel heard, and they have a safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings as well as to be able to talk openly about their concerns and what really matters to them.

Having worked for now over 5 years in the NHS, I am very experienced working with many different concerns worries,  supporting people in a professional, confidential unconditional way helping them to voice their own struggles and listening with great empathy to what really matters to them. In the recently 2 years, I worked as a counsellor  supporting people affected by different mental conditions and those struggling to survive the lost of a loved one.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
