About me

I am a couples and relationship therapist working with people who are struggling right now. For a couple that might mean that you've grown apart and can't see a way to regain what you once had, or you may even be dealing with the aftermath of an affair. I often see couples from blended families who want a little extra help in navigating bringing two families together.

For an individual, it could be that you're looking for a way to assess what's right for you and your future. You may be coping with a trauma; trying to get on with your life but finding that difficult. This could be showing up for you in difficulties sleeping or concentrating, or even symptoms of anxiety.

My approach is very much focused on what's going on for you right now. If we need to delve into the past, we will, but we'll also set practical experiments between sessions, to help you start feeling better as soon as possible.

I use a gentle and effective tool called Rewind to deal with trauma, one which I regularly use with veterans suffering from PTSD.

I see people online and face to face in Hythe and Folkestone. For individuals, I also offer outdoor sessions, where we walk and talk - ideal for anyone who wants a bit more exercise, and the very act of walking helps our brains process and heal.

You can take the next step by visiting my website where you can book a free consultation, or emailing me to arrange a no-obligation chat.

Training, qualifications & experience

MHGI

I am a fully qualified member of the Human Givens Institute, which works with The Human Givens, a form of therapy that is solution focused and aims to improve life for you as soon as possible.

My experience has been split between my own private practice and working with a local community organisation, delivering therapy to members with issues such as addiction, ASD, and trauma.

MSc in Business Psychology

I have a Masters in Business Psychology and have previously owned my own PR and marketing company. I am very experienced in working with businesses at all levels, and understand the issues that can bring added stress to CEOs, business owners, entrepreneurs and freelancers. Likewise, I often go into businesses to work with them on a group training or one to one counselling basis with employees.

Coaching

I am also a coach, having trained with the ICF accredited school Animas, and have been coaching young people in mental health and preparing for work, for many years.

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I can arrange access to wheelchair friendly premises which I can pre-book if requested.
