About me
As a registered Consultant family and systemic psychotherapist since 2011, I have offered consultation and interventions to people of all ages including individuals, couples & families experiencing a wide range of difficulties including (but not limited to) Trauma/PTSD, depression, stress & anxiety, relationship difficulties, eating difficulties/disorder, attachment difficulties/disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders, psychosis, loss & bereavement, relationship difficulties, self-harm, separation & divorce, low self-esteem and confidence, adoption.
As a consultant family and systemic psychotherapist, my role involves helping individuals, families or people in close relationships with each other to make useful changes in their relationships and their lives. Family and systemic psychotherapy offers opportunities for individuals, families and couples to explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely and to reflect and build upon their strengths and resources.
I have worked in NHS mental health services since 1994, initially as a community mental health charge nurse practitioner, then as a senior nurse lecturer and programme leader. Since 2011, alongside lecturing, I have been practicing as a family and systemic psychotherapist within the NHS. Fully indemnity insured practitioner.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
