About me

Reaching out and asking for support is a very courageous act, one I wholeheartedly welcome because I know what it is like to feel anxious and afraid to ask for support.

I know from personal experience that this is not easy work and can be painful, challenging and difficult. We will work together taking the time to figure these things out.

I work using a combination of traditional talking therapies and nature-based Wild therapy. Being in connection with the 'other than human' world will give you a richer and deeper connection with your body, heart and mind through sensing and breathwork.

I have life experience of living and working with the following;

  • Nature connection and spirituality
  • Self-image, self-esteem and confidence issues
  • Grief through death and loss
  • Searching for meaning and purpose, life transitions
  • Shame
  • Trauma
  • Fatherhood and being a man
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Substance misuse and addiction

As a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice (http://www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework).

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Gestalt and Wild therapist.

Courses I have trained in:

  • Wild Therapy 2023
  • PG Dip Gestalt Psychotherapy 2009
  • PG Cert Gestalt Psychotherapy 2008
  • Advanced Diploma in Professional Development Gestalt Psychotherapy 2007
  • Certificate in Counselling skills 2006

I have a close relationship with the 'other than human' world and have a daily practice being in connection with nature and my nature.

I am a regular meditator with almost twenty five years of mind and heartfulness based practice experience.

I have trained in a variety of healing modalities including Auricular acupuncture, Reiki, Thai massage and others.

I have over seventeen years of experience working in the fields of disability, mental health, homelessness and substance misuse, and suicide support and prevention.

I have worked as a therapist in NHS and holistic health settings working with individuals across a broad range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
