About me

Many of us experience challenges and setbacks in our lives, which can sometimes throw us off balance. You might be struggling at home, at school or at work. Perhaps you feel anxious, sad or angry. Maybe everything feels overwhelming and exhausting.

I can offer a safe, confidential space to talk about your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgement. I can also help you to make sense of what’s going on in your life, so that you can better understand yourself and others.

Counselling for adults

I work with adults on a one-to-one basis. I have experience in supporting adults who are struggling with a variety of challenges, such as relationship difficulties, anxiety, low mood and past trauma.

Counselling for young people

I offer one-to-one counselling to young people between the ages of 11 and 18 on a wide range of issues, such as body image, anxiety and self-harm.

About me

I am an experienced counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. The psychodynamic model acknowledges the impact of our past experiences on our present lives, so helping us to gain insight and awareness.

Trust is essential to the counselling relationship, so confidentiality is important. I also always work sensitively and at the client’s own pace.

What happens next?

In the first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking counselling support and how we might work together. If you decide to go ahead, we will meet every week at the same time. Each session lasts for 50 minutes.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at The Counselling Foundation, first gaining a Foundation Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling. I then completed a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, followed by an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for good practice.

I have experience of working with a wide range of clients. In addition to my private practice, I work in a secondary school, where I see students for individual counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
