About me

Hello, my name is Nanneke. Thank you for looking at my profile.

I am a BACP registered psychotherapeutic counsellor. I work with adults and older teenagers (16 and over) with a wide rage of issues, from the feeling that ‘something is just not right’, a major loss, depression, anxiety, suicidal feelings, to the devastating impact of early childhood trauma like abuse or neglect. My approach is integrative, that means that I draw on a number of different approaches ; it’s kind like having a toolbox and being able to choose what works best and what you would feel comfortable with. I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling.

As a BACP Member I am bound by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am committed to ongoing learning and development to enhance and inform my practice.

At the moment all the sessions that I have available at a lower concessionary rate are taken. If you want to be put on the waiting list, please feel free to ask me about this.

Please email, text or call if you would like to know more about counselling and want to explore what you are looking for. If I do not answer your call, I may be working and then my phone is switched off. In that case, please do leave your name and number and I will come back to you as soon as I can.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
