About me

When was the last time you felt truly listened to and understood?  Talk to someone who really gets you and wants to support you. Insight is good. Change is possible. Life can get easier. I'm here to help.

Nobody’s experiences are exactly the same as yours - that's why I genuinely want to hear your story. An empathic and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, I feel passionate about my clients’ wellbeing and am authentically interested in what they bring to the counselling room. Yes, I will occasionally challenge you but I will always be on your side.

Having had a rich life experience myself I have an open mind to the most difficult or uncomfortable experiences and feelings - I want you to feel safe to express yourself freely and explore your emotions and thoughts without being subjected to any preconceptions, judgement or opinions. You, my client, are special to me - I want us to have a good therapeutic relationship and I want you to feel valued and respected.

Sometimes it can be hard to describe your experience in words. Sometimes words alone don't make sense. Understanding why we feel the way we feel is important but it doesn’t always mean we can automatically get rid of that feeling. This is when we can go beyond talking therapy and use other tools. As an integrative counsellors I draw from a wide range of therapeutic techniques.

Asking for help is a brave thing to do. Be brave. The sooner you take the first step towards a brighter future, the sooner it will become a reality. I look forward to hearing from you.

What I offer:

  • Emotional Support: I provide a warm, empathetic space where you can share your thoughts and feelings openly.
  • Insight and Understanding: Together, we will work to uncover patterns in your thoughts and behaviours, helping you gain clarity and self-awareness.
  • Personal Growth: Whether you’re looking to improve your relationships, build confidence, or tackle life changes, I’ll help you move forward in a positive direction.
  • Healing from Trauma:  If you’ve been through painful experiences, I’ll help you process those in a way that feels safe and supportive.
  • Relationship Improvement: I offer guidance for improving communication, resolving conflicts, and building stronger, healthier relationships with those around you.

Approach to Counseling: My approach is flexible and tailored to meet your unique needs, whether you're seeking immediate relief or long-term personal development. I draw on elements of Person-Centred Therapy, Psychobiology, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic Approach, Art Therapy, and Gestalt.

Why Work with Me?

  • Empathy and Non-Judgment: You will be met with respect, kindness, and an open mind.
  • Working Together: I believe in teaming up with you to find what works best for your situation.
  • Holistic Care: I address the emotional, mental, and relational aspects of your well-being, ensuring a well-rounded approach to your growth.  I take into account your emotional, mental, and relationship needs for well-rounded support.
  • Power Therapies: if you would like to try something different, I offer the  techniques based on the trans biological model of consciousness - the idea that our emotional life leaves a permanent imprint in our bodies and that many issues can be resolved by addressing suspended feelings and physical sensations.

I have helped clients with many different concerns, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, grief, relationship problems, depression, ADHD, family issues, stress, PTSD, loneliness, eating disorders, abuse, and other issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
