About me
Welcome to Kimberley’s longest established private practice. My name is Matt and I am a fully qualified and highly experienced therapist specialising in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships and low self-esteem; anger problems and various other issues. I practice as a ‘Person-Centred Humanistic Therapist' and have a comfortable and modern ‘discreet’ private practice located near the Ikea Giltbrook retail site Nottingham.
Having your counselling experience with me will provide you with the conditions you need to explore your emotions, issues, thoughts and experiences in safety and will allow you to begin to make better sense of them, no matter how small or how overwhelming they may feel.
I am ‘understanding’ and very patient and you can talk in total confidence. Maybe you are feeling ‘stuck’ or ‘lost’ and not sure how to cope with a particular issue? You may be feeling particularly ‘down’ at the moment, experiencing relationship problems, bereavement, feelings of anger, anxiety or low self-esteem.
Perhaps your feeling vulnerable or generally unhappy and don’t really know why? Whatever your issues or worries may be, past or present, we can work together and begin to take positive steps towards better understanding and a brighter future.
Our relationship will be on a one to one basis, built on trust and my non judgmental, genuine regard for your well-being.
I won't tell you what to do, but I will help you to make decisions for yourself and remain alongside you as you discover any underlying issues that could help you understand what is happening to you.
I will listen to what you have to say and try to understand your world and explore it with you. No matter what you bring to therapy, we will explore it together and always at a pace comfortable for you.
We will have a safe professional relationship and will normally meet for 50 minutes once a week and this will be your special time to talk about the things that are important for you or maybe you just need to talk and have some time out.
I will always try and be flexible to your requirements and provide a fair and personal 'quality' service.
Why not call me to see if I can help you?

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
