About me

Hey! Welcome and thank you for taking the time to look at my page. I encourage you to have a read and if you have any questions, then please give me a call.

Who am I?

I am an experienced, accredited counsellor providing a holistic and professional counselling service.

You might be looking for support around a specific issue, or perhaps wanting to make a change. You might not even be able to put your finger on it, but something just feels wrong and life isn’t working for you. Counselling is an opportunity for you to reconnect with yourself, to develop a greater awareness of your thoughts and feelings, make sense of things, resolve conflicts and most importantly feel empowered to live a life of your own design.

I bring myself to my practice which means I work with integrity, honesty and respect. I aim to provide you with a safe and open environment, filled with support, compassion and understanding so that you are given freedom to explore whatever you feel is needed.

I have worked in the caring profession alongside children, young people and adults for over 14 years. For 12 years i have dedicated my work to supporting those recover from trauma. My experiences have enabled me to build up a depth of knowledge around multiple complex issues including depression and anxiety, low confidence and self-esteem, bereavement, abuse, self-harm, substance misuse, relationship conflict.

Alongside my private counselling practice I work therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced exploitation. I am also a volunteer counsellor for a charity offering counselling services to adults.

What can I Offer?

I work integratively. This means that I have been trained in a range of counselling techniques and different theories, thereby allowing me to respond to each client’s individuality by choosing the most effective therapies to meet their specific needs.

I am also qualified in coaching and how it can be integrated with counselling, which means that I can use approaches and techniques that support clients who wish to make positive changes in their life as a result of the work we do together.

Most importantly I will offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space and establish a partnership built on trust and authenticity.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

As part of my formal qualification I was trained in the use of the personal consultancy framework. This is a model based on the integration of aspects of coaching and counselling and looks at ways of enabling us to rebalance our thoughts and feelings so we can address any internal and external conflicts that might be acting as barriers to where we want to be. Through dedication to these areas, we can then work towards generating new patterns of being. The focus of this model is how as counsellors we support you from start to finish through 4 phases; authentic listening, rebalancing, generating and supporting. The time and length of this journey is decided in collaboration between you and your counsellor.
