About me

I am an experienced Counsellor with many years experience of working with people who have immediate and historical concerns.  I work with individuals and offer couples counselling for those struggling with life.

I have a person centred trauma informed approach, which means that I will offer you a safe, confidential space to explore any issues which may be stopping you from achieving what you want in your life.

I provide short and long term therapy for individuals face to face online or by telephone.

On the initial assessment, we will discuss all of the presenting issues and then we can decide on the best way to meet your therapeutic needs. This is the chance to see whether we can work together moving forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4. I am working towards CPCAB Level 5 post qualifying Certificate in Relational Counselling.

I have varied professional experience.  Before retraining I worked in Children’s Service, Health and Social Care for over 15 Years. I have over 12 years’ experience working with Women’s Aid, working with individuals and their families who have suffered and/or witnessed domestic abuse

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

The first session will be an assessment session where we discuss all of your presenting issues and work out the best way forward. This is also so that we can meet as people and see if we could work well together. It is up to you as the client to decide whether you would like to continue after the assessment or not.

Following the initial assessment we will continue to work weekly using whichever modality we have decided on as the best to address the issues discussed.
