About me

Difficult feelings can be hard to manage on your own. Maybe this is due to a recent event or it is a feeling you have been struggling with for some time.

I am an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger management, addictions, relationship problems and low self-esteem.

Sometimes it can feel hard to open up to those around you, or maybe you are feeling isolated and unsure where to turn.  I offer a confidential and supportive space where we can explore together feelings and experiences which have led to your current difficulties. By beginning to understand ourselves better we can notice patterns in our thinking that are no longer helpful, facilitating an opportunity for change as you work towards building a more secure sense of self.

Sessions are offered on the same day and time each week providing a reliable space for you to bring whatever feels important. This gives you the security that there is a place to bring difficult feelings, which we can think about together.

The next step

Initially, I provide a free fifteen minute telephone consultation to discuss what you would like from counselling and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

I offer open-ended therapy which can either be short-term as we focus on a specific issue or longer term for a wider range of issues and more in-depth work. My current availability includes face to face, online and telephone sessions.

I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their Code of Ethics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
