About me
Hi, My name is Leanne, Thank you for looking at my profile.
I'm an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and offer a friendly, non judgemental, confidential safe space for you to be heard and begin your counselling journey. I understand that sometimes talking to friends and family is not enough. Working together can help to gain a new perspective and find ways to tackle issues which will empower you to change negative behaviour patterns.
For some time now I worked with the UK's leading charities for both domestic abuse and bereavement supporting adults who are suffering the effects of trauma, abuse and loss including those in abusive relationships. Along side this I have extensive experience working with Anxiety, OCD , BPD and eating disorders. My background in education also means I am qualified to work with young people and families.
You will have the answers and I will work collaboratively to help you unlock these, gain clarity as well as give you the tools to enable you to get you where you would like to be. I will help you to find a new sense of confidence and autonomy to change negative behaviours.
Being an Integrative Counsellor allows me to use a range of concepts to tailor your therapy using CBT and DBT but it is the Personal centred approach which puts you first, allowing you the space to be heard. Together, we can explore whatever difficulties you are experiencing to get to you to a happier you. If you feel you would work well with honesty, warmth and openness then I may be the counsellor for you.
Please call to have chat to see how we can work together to help make that positive change happen.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I believe that everyone has the capacity to look within themselves and develop new perspectives in their lives. As a practitioner, this is at the forefront of my mind. In my practice I offer a person-centred approach (talking therapy), drawing on theories such as transactional analysis, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other approaches and can tailor sessions to your individual needs.
Counselling/talking therapies can help people come to terms with childhood traumas, difficulties in coping with issues and in acquiring new perspectives of life situations and experiences. This process can equip you with better life strategies and to look ahead with more clarity and a sense of direction. We would initially look at what you want to experience/gain from the counselling process and discuss the most appropriate way forward.
I work from dedicated Therapy rooms in the heart of Wilmslow. and Heaton Moor. There is free parking, they are close to bus routes and train stations and provide a warm, friendly and confidential space to begin your sessions.
I am passionate about empowering and motivating people and helping them regain a healthier perspective on life. I am committed to a holistic approach to health to help support your wellbeing
My aim is to build a trusting relationship with clients and support them in becoming more self-aware and reach personal goals. Taking on a counselling journey, for whatever reason, can be challenging and daunting. I will offer a professional, confidential compassionate and non-judgemental experience for each individual.
