About me

Anyone interested in having counselling will find a flood of options, I want to help you decide whether I would be a suitable candidate to help you based on my training and background.

My training, practice and life experience shows me that the best way to help people is to give them a safe space to explore their life learnings and let them talk through their thoughts and feelings. I will help you find a your own path forward by respecting your opinions and listening with unconditional positive regard.

I provide a broad range of counselling services to my clients, but I have a keen interest in helping young adults and their families including those who have encountered emotional health (ADHD, ADD, OCD) or physical health (epilepsy, diabetes) challenges. I also have personal direct and indirect experiences of loss at a young age and gender dysphoria.

I follow my husband as he travels for work, for two weeks in France, and two weeks in the UK. If you travel a lot for work or follow a partner abroad and would like to talk about your life, please take the time to contact me.

Because of my travelling between France and the UK, I only offer online counselling, if it is not something you have considered before we can discuss its merits in our first session. I am very flexible in terms of availability as I can work any time of the day or evening.

Whether you are unfamiliar with the concept of counselling and don’t know if it’s right for you or have a clear and immediate need please reach out today. We start with a no-obligation session to determine whether we feel we can work together and explore the next steps.

If we are both happy to proceed further, then we will create a mutually agreeable series of one to ten sessions at a frequency of your choosing. At the end of each series, we will review the next steps with the option to extend our arrangement.

Training, qualifications & experience

In addition to my private work, I am committed to providing services to charities this includes:

  • COGS - child and young person counselling (12 to 25 years old)
  • Orchard Counselling - affordable in-person counselling service

I have children and other near relations who have combinations of emotional and health challenges and who have suffered loss, this means that I bring training/counselling experience combined with personal experience into our sessions.

Before my career as a therapist, I was a teaching assistant for primary schools. I assisted in Key Stage 2 classes and started training to be a counsellor when I realised that many students needed someone to listen to them express their life challenges as they sorted out personal and family life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
