About me

Hi Im Kelly, thanks for reading my profile.

Are you looking for a change? Feeling stuck? Perhaps something heavy is on your mind that won't go away. Maybe it's a bereavement or loss. You could be feeling so empty that you have attempted or considered suicide. Is it a relationship difficulty, or work related stress? It could be generalised anxiety that is affecting your sleep and daily routine. You may be feeling low in mood or having painful memories from a difficult past experience. Perhaps you have been a victim of Domestic Abuse or bullying.Maybe you have thoughts of harming yourself.

I am a qualified Counsellor who can help you move forward to overcome difficulties and feel more positive about life. I will help you to find solutions and strategies to improve your quality of life. I offer 1 to 1 sessions that can be in person or online.

I work integratively. This means that I always use person-centred counselling. I can also draw upon a range of other counselling and therapeutic approaches whilst offering you a confidential and safe space, going at your pace. I will work with you in a way that feels comfortable and compassionate. You will be heard and valued. I will never judge you. Together we can find new ways to work things out so that you can move forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

  • Experience of the care system
  • Vicarious trauma linked to work

If you were a child growing up in Local Authority Care or a parent affected by the removal of your child/ren, and your experiences are affecting your adult life, I have specific expertise in this area.

If you are a front- line health or social care worker and feel like you are at risk of burn out, I am skilled in working therapeutically with the effects of vicarious trauma.
