About me

Hello and thank you for viewing my profile.

I am a warm and friendly person-centred counsellor.

It was many years ago, whilst I was working in end of life care, that I first thought of training to be a counsellor. However, as so often happens, life seemed to get in the way. Eventually with a great deal of life experience under my belt, I took the plunge and I am now a fully qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I can offer the opportunity for you to explore whatever it may be that is of concern or causing you distress in a non-judgmental and compassionate space. We can do this in whichever way suits you, talking and /or working creatively. We will move through the sessions at your pace. I believe it is essential that you are treated as a unique individual who feels supported, valued, and understood. We will endeavour to build a trusting relationship. I will listen to you without judgement and together we will gain insight into your personal world, seeking ways to move life forward in a positive way.

I have two years’ experience in working at a Pregnancy Crisis Centre, working with clients who have experienced baby loss.

I have a great deal of experience in working with clients who have been bereaved.  Having experienced bereavement and grief myself, loss of any kind is something very close to my heart.

I look forward to meeting you in my practice which is set in a rural location just outside of Yeovil. I prefer to work face to face and sessions will last an hour.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
