About me

Hi, my name is Kate. I'm a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor working with adults and adolescents. My profile is here to offer you some insight into what sort of service I can provide. I don’t believe there is a 'one size fits all' with counselling so my approach draws on a range of therapies including psychoanalysis, person-centred and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) that is best suited to your individual needs.

I help people struggling with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger management, low self-esteem, bereavement, social anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and relationship issues.

I offer a caring, safe and confidential space for supportive self-exploration, and I work collaboratively with you to develop your autonomy and self-worth.

My aim is to support and empower you with knowledge and effective tools/techniques to feel able to manage your everyday life, live fuller and feel able to achieve your goals.

My practice, Thrive Therapy, is based in Weybridge and I offer both short and long-term counselling for adults and adolescents working from my garden room or online. My practice is easily accessible with off-street parking and offers a cosy and safe space to explore what's troubling you.

I also work within the education sector and as a counsellor for The Matthew Hackney Foundation which is a local charity providing counselling services to local primary and secondary schools. I work with children and teenagers covering a variety of issues in a school environment and from my private practice at home.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
