About me

First session free!

I am a registered member of the BACP with an MA in Integrative Counselling and Practice, offering counselling and therapy to individuals, couples and young people.

I am an experienced counsellor having worked as a therapist for almost 15 years offering an Integrative approach which means I can use different ways of working to meet the needs of my clients. I feel that we all need help and support at times and talking with me in a safe and confidential space can help you to make changes in your life that will benefit you and your family.

I can offer you a supportive and non-judgemental relationship in which you can explore the challenges of your life now or the impact of past experiences, you can express your feelings and come to a better understanding of yourself which will empower you to make those changes and feel happier.

Having worked with Relate I gained relationship counselling qualifications and so can also offer relationship counselling for individuals and couples. All couples experience difficult cycles in their relationship and sometimes some help and support is needed to help move through these times with new ways of understanding and communication, so if you can't talk to each other talk to me and I can help.

All my experience and qualifications enables me to offer family work and support for parents also.

Training, qualifications & experience

As well my private practice I have worked in a number of different settings including CAMHs (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), Relate and Place2be.

I have 10 years experience working in CAMHs, working with children and young people experiencing many different emotional, mental health difficulties including anxiety, low mood, self harming behaviours, impact of neglect and abuse, impact of bullying at school and other school related concerns, behaviour/anger issues, attachment difficulties and bereavement to name just a few. This experience has enabled me to work closely with parents to help improve relationships and ensure a positive foundation for counselling and therapy to be supported.

I have completed a number of training course relating to this work including Safeguarding Children and Young People, and have a enhanced DBS.

I gained my relationship counselling qualification during my time working with Relate and so can offer relationship counselling to individuals and couples with a number of different concerns from communication issues, impact of daily life, stress, money, etc.

Please contact me to discuss further.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
