About me

Do you feel lost or stuck in old patterns? Have you been told you are 'too much' or 'too difficult'? Is there a critic inside that blames and shames you or do you spend more time pleasing others than yourself? These experiences may be the result of trauma, abuse, loss or difficulties in childhood. Together we can explore what is keeping you stuck and causing fear and anxiety.

There may be deep and painful wounds that are hidden within the physical and psychological discomfort of anxiety and depression. It's in the dis-ease, tension or chronic pain and illness. They tell us a story that goes beyond words and time. They may drive important decisions and life choices, try to sabotage our dreams or relationships or tell us that our needs and feelings are not ok.

Together, we can find a way of listening so that all the parts of you, even the most difficult, can be heard with compassion and genuine care. When we can relate to all of our experiencing, including anxiety and depression, with love and compassion, we are less likely to reject or disown our Selves. With more ease and acceptance of who we are comes authenticity in our relationships with our self and others.

How I work

I use a relational approach in my work, which is informed by my training in Integrative Psychotherapy, Wild Therapy and my interests in myth, story and the cycles and rhythms of our bodies and the earth. I work in an intuitive, embodied way, meaning that for me, I view mental health, anxiety and depression as inextricably linked with the way in which the complex web of culture, identity and political, social and environmental concerns plays out in our minds and bodies.

Our work may be in the safe, warm space of the therapy room, or we could take it outdoors and allow nature and the elements to support your process of self-discovery and healing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
