About me

As a fully-qualified and experienced counsellor, I take a holistic approach to person-centred therapy. I believe firmly in the importance of building up a strong relationship with my clients in order to improve their self-esteem and empower them to make the necessary changes in their lives. Offering a non-judgemental and approachable listening ear, it’s my mission to help those who need it most, especially those who have already had a negative experience of counselling in a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment.

How do I Work?

I work with my clients in a person-centred way, with my clients setting the direction, agenda and purpose for their therapy. I believe it’s important to listen to each client carefully, taking on board their issues so that we can then work together on the best ways to overcome their problems. The types of therapy I use will be entirely geared to meet the needs of each client – there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to counselling.

My Values

It goes without saying that client confidentiality is of paramount importance to me, and I always adhere to the ethical code of practice outlined by the BACP, of which I am a member.

Which Counselling Areas Do I Offer?

I work with clients who are experiencing a broad spectrum of issues from depression and anxiety to addiction. I have worked extensively with addiction sufferers as well as with children, teenagers, young adults and those with learning disabilities, so I have extensive expertise across the spectrum of mental health disorders.

My Availability

It’s my mission to make myself as available as I can to my clients. To this end, I can offer both video chat and telephone counselling to bring therapy within reach of as many people as who need it.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
