About me

If you are looking for a counsellor either face to face, online or telephone then we may be a good fit.

Finding your counsellor is important, but finding the right counsellor, who you are comfortable with, and who you feel you can have a relationship with, in order to express emotions or sit in silence with and that be OK, is even more important.

I believe finding a counsellor deserves your time you only know it is the right fit when you try them on and walk with them for a while. Relationships take time to build.

My own background is in special education provision for children, young people and adults. I am experienced in working with people who use a variety of communication strategies and individuals who are Neurodiverse.

Through later work with charitable organisations, I have provided remote and face to face counselling support to older adults experiencing a range of life events during the pandemic period.  Through the use of telephone, online and face to face work I am able to provide an tailored therapy for each individual drawing on skills and experiences whilst building relationship with you as an individual.

When working with children and young people I have often use therapeutic play skills to support the relationship development.  Work is undertaken drawing on a range of skills and strategies when working in the therapy room to listen to and offer individuals what they want and need.

The therapy room is within a quiet community setting with nearby parking. I offer a comfortable setting for clients of all ages.

I warmly invite you to contact me.  We can meet online, on the telephone or in person person and you can get a feel for how I work. To discuss your wants and needs and whether this feels like a good fit for you at this time.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
