About me

My approach is to create the right conditions to allow you to reconnect with your values, to enable you to live your life the way you want to.

Although I’m not here to offer advice, I may suggest alternative perspectives and, if you don’t have clarity, help you identify what may sit behind your present frame of mind.

A key part of my approach is to help you grow your self-awareness which, in turn, will empower you to make the changes or adjustments needed to live the life you want.

You will find my style informal, conversational, straightforward and sincere.

As well as being a seasoned therapist, I also have a good deal of experience based on what life has thrown at us as individuals.

In addition to one-to-one online counselling, I also offer couples counselling and walking therapy packages throughout the year.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked in people development and support throughout Europe and the USA, for a variety of organisations, including the BBC and Rolls Royce.

Before training as a Therapeutic Counsellor, I’ve always been involved in helping people to reach their full potential, whether through training and development or improving communication skills.

Having trained as a Therapeutic Counsellor, I have worked with a broad selection of clients in private practice (either as individuals or couples). My clients range from ex-forces personnel through to autistic clients. As well as having my own practice, I worked for Mind as a Counsellor for a number of years.

Currently, I work for Bedford College as a Counselling Lecturer. I have been a part of the Counselling Team for the last five years, continuing my passion for developing therapists.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
