About me

Welcome :) I'm so glad you're here.
I have 22 years experience as a counsellor, there is no subject matter that hasn't been worked through. I love holding space for others, it's my passion and mission. I have had my own significant personal journey prior to and in parallel to my work as a Therapist, which enables me to have the insights and skills that you need in me as your Therapist.

I work intuitively to connect with and best support you. My theoretical approach is integrative, combining different theories and approaches to best meet your needs. My training has been Humanistic in the main. I am also a Reiki Master.

As well as organic, solution focused Counselling sessions, I offer a bespoke 1:1 Self Love program and I am currently writing a book as an expert in my field & working with a publisher. You can work with me in traditional Counselling or the Coaching approach program, or both!

I offer Walk & Talk session in fairer months, weather dependant, if you are local to Bedfordshire/Milton Keynes. It's a great way to get your steps in, be in nature and you can even bring your dog or baby, if you have.

I am versed and trained in supporting people with neurodiversity - ADHD and Autism. I am able to build a trusting relationship that will empower you, or a special person in your life, to heal and grow.

In my 22 years as a Counsellor, I have counselled for various agencies including Cruse Bereavement Care, Bedford Open Door and YiS Young Peoples Mental Health. I have also worked with Troubled Families and as a Careers Counsellor and also supported adult males with learning disabilities.

I have been able to build up vast experience in supporting others, specialising in supporting Young People, Inner Child work, Self Love, Trauma and Loss. This has been in a range of settings. I also have expertise in working with issues of and associated with Addiction.

I have developed skills as a Relationship/Dating therapist and can work with you around your Attachment Style.

My bespoke (Self) Love Therapy 12 week program covers: Trauma, Inner Child integration and reparenting, Self Esteem, Needs, Boundaries, Attraction, Attachment Styles, Inner Critic, Relationships, Nervous System Regulation, Breathe work, Manifestation and lots more. It's a deep dive that has a coaching approach and weekly 'self work' homework tasks.

Self Love helps improve all aspects of your Life, as your internal world really does inform the external. All relationships improve, you become better at giving and receiving love and making healthy relational decisions. Your capacity to create expands, in work and business.

My motivation as a counsellor is to facilitate and empower others. I work with you empathically to help you build self acceptance and your sense of self.

I share tools including Mindfulness techniques. I help you create a tool box of tools that you take with you and get to keep beyond our sessions.

I bring myself and an open mind and heart to sessions. I reassure you, build safety and trust so that you feel comfortable and safe to share. We work together as one to best support you.

Let's talk about how I can best support you, Jodi x

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
