About me
Do you want relief from stress and anxiety? To perhaps learn some coping mechanisms? To understand the psychological processes that drive your emotions?
Do you need an outside objective perspective on your life to get more out of it? To understand why you behave a certain way? Why others behave a certain way with you?
Are you struggling to juggle the balls of one or more physical long-term health condition(s), work and the rest of your life?
Are you dealing with a sense of loss - of a person, of your health, of something loved? Do you need help to deal with that grief, the gap remaining, the sense of lostness that can remain?
Do you perhaps need help with managing difficult relationships? or understanding how to have healthier ones?
Do you despair of ever feeling content or happy again? Or just to feel actively happy rather than a state of plain neutral?
Or do you want to undertake some personal development, to have someone's support as you tread through life's corridors?
I can help you to experience less stress, understand more, build greater resilience and be more in control of your life.
I offer a road-map towards better health (mental and therefore physical) and a stronger sense of wellbeing using a range of holistic and creative tools such as conversation, art, archetype cards, visualisation, meditation and more.
The three pillars to your work with me will be self-exploration, self-understanding and self-care.
The benefits of working with me include extensive knowledge & experience (25+ years) of working with physical and mental health conditions. As well as conversations, we use outside-the-box thinking, and a range of creative methods (optional) that allow us to access parts of the brain that are normally out of consciousness. This enables us to work deeply, and make lasting change, which ultimately results in increasing your resilience levels.
Face to face sessions are available and online sessions are delivered by Skype, zoom or MS Teams for your convenience. Day appointments are available.
I am client centred in putting you at the heart of the work, being led by you and your goals. I work at your pace, preferring to accommodate you the person rather than try to make you fit a particular model. I want to see you succeed in your life, and that is what drives my work. My current areas of interest are the mind-body link, chronic ailments and wellbeing through creativity. I will consider working with most issues.
I hold an MA in Child, Adolescent & Family therapy; a Diploma in Coaching; a Diploma in Supervision and an MA in Creative Writing. I am BACP Accredited.
I have worked within CAMHS for 8 years and in the wider NHS for over 12 (including adult eating disorders team). I also provide mental health consultations for professionals struggling to understand client behaviours. I have worked in a range of charities helping adults with a range of emotional difficulties.
I do offer a 15min consultation - by video - to see if we feel we connect enough and feel comfortable enough together to undertake the work.
If we decide to work together, in our initial full session we will undertake an assessment, to start talking about what you want to achieve in the work and for the work to start. All sessions are 50 minutes face to face / video time.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I work in a fluid, client-focused / led way, as I believe that the right things will be addressed at the right time and have observed in past work, that there is a circular pattern to issues surfacing.
I am passionate about connecting with the humanity of each person as I feel that this aspect often gets missed in today's fast paced, results driven society.
I provide a calm, contained safe space aimed at bringing down the energy levels so that we can examine what needs to emerge.
