About me
I am a highly experienced relationship, family and individual counsellor. I assist people who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships and environments. Previously based in Central London, I now work exclusively online with long-term and short-term clients, including couples, individuals and families.
Regardless of your gender, ethnicity, neurodiversity, visible or invisible disability, race, sexual identity, religious and spiritual beliefs or lack thereof, I will listen to you with empathy, kindness, respect and understanding. I pay close attention to family scripts and narratives, employing a systemic approach.
My experience of over 4,000 hours of counselling has allowed me to work with, support and care for many diverse and unique individuals and couples. This has led me to a deeper understanding of the significance and impact of the numerous systems that influence us throughout our lives.
Systemic therapy is a unique form of psychotherapy that focuses on individuals within the context of their relationships and wider systems. This approach recognises that people are not isolated entities but are part of larger units or systems, such as families, couples, organisations or communities.
The core principle of systemic therapy is to identify and address deeply entrenched patterns within a person's relationships and family dynamics. By uncovering how members communicate and behave based on their beliefs about their roles, systemic therapy helps people understand and alter unhealthy relationship dynamics.
This therapeutic approach can be beneficial for a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, relationship problems, and family conflicts. It is particularly effective in addressing child and adult-focused problems, as well as dealing with various challenges in the family life cycle, such as attachment issues, divorce, and loss.
Systemic therapy does not aim to blame individuals but rather seeks to identify problems and support individuals in making changes within a supportive environment. My role is to facilitate discussions and encourage group members and individuals to find their own solutions.
