About me

For most of us, life is a complex mix of highs and lows. Sometimes we need professional help, separate to our family and friends, to support mental health and wellbeing, and help us find our way. You might be an adolescent or young adult struggling to navigate life; have a child or young person in distress or be battling with parenting or behaviour issues. Psychotherapy can help you make sense of thoughts, feelings and problematic behaviours; allowing you to create better relationships, healthier behaviours, achieve potential and find joy in life.

I work with children and young people (0-25), parents and carers. My specialist NHS training allows me to work with difficulties throughout childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. I offer time-limited or longer term psychotherapy based on your specific needs, I also have training in Mindfulness and CBT techniques.

It's natural to feel unsure about seeking help, and change is often unsettling. I provide psychodynamic treatment based on each person's unique set of experiences and needs, in a safe and welcoming space. Please use the contact links on this page to arrange a conversation with me and we can discuss how to work towards you accessing the help you need.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Child and Family Psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience working with children, young people and their families. I have spent much of my career working therapeutically with children with complex needs and at risk of school exclusion. I also have experience working with young people across a diverse range of settings including boarding schools and asylum-seeking communities. I am committed to working with sensitivity to the unique individual circumstances and experiences of my clients. Following my work in schools, private practice and most recently, with The Bridge Foundation in Bristol, I currently work in private practice in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council and am a member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists and the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health.

I work using psychodynamic and developmental approaches and have training in other modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. My NHS masters level training qualifies me to work with children and young people from infancy to early adulthood (25 years). I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate, professional indemnity insurance and have current safeguarding training.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
