About me

I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor who has been in practice for over a decade; I offer individual counselling in my practice room in Notting Hill Gate as well as being a Certified Online and Telephone Counsellor offering sessions remotely via Zoom if preferred. I offer a limited number of evening appointments.

I offer both short term counselling (6-12 sessions) and longer-term psychotherapy which can be open ended. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, bereavement and childhood trauma to name a few.

My Approach

My therapeutic style is collaborative, creative and dynamic. I see my approach as truly integrative, not only integrating different theoretical approaches such as psychodynamic, cognitive/behavioural and humanistic but also integrating myself into the therapeutic relationship so that I am able to offer whatever is required in the moment. If anxiety levels are so high or low mood is so extreme that it acts as a barrier to being able to engage in counselling, I might offer some CBT type interventions in the first few sessions in order to help find strategies to manage these intense feelings so that engagement is possible on a deeper more relational level going forward

I work in a considered way that allows you to find your own path through whatever difficulties you are experiencing with a solid therapeutic relationship forming the foundations to any other interventions I might offer. My aim is to build a therapeutic relationship with you that is trusting, supportive and genuine and provides a caring, respectful, non-judgmental, safe space in which you can speak openly and explore feelings that might seem dangerous. I believe that when you are able to find new words for old feelings even the most embedded patterns can be transformed.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified from Roehampton University in 2011 with a distinction in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (Post Graduate Diploma). I am also a Certified Online and Telephone Counsellor.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP. I subscribe to and am guided by the BACP code of ethics for good practice, this includes my own continued clinical supervision.

Over the last decade I have amassed a wealth of experience working as a student counsellor and Wellbeing Manager at Goldsmiths University where I offered short term and longer-term counselling to both undergraduate and postgraduate students of all ages from diverse backgrounds. I wrote and ran workshops on numerous topics such as Managing Anxiety, Finding Your Voice, Coping with Bereavement and Procrastination. I also worked at The Royal College of Art as a student counsellor as well as having my own private practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
