About me

I am a Group Analyst; I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy to individuals and conduct psychotherapy groups.

INDIVIDUAL

Through our early experiences, in our families and the societies in which we are raised, we develop conscious and unconscious relational patterns. These patterns of relationship influence how we see the world and interact with it; at times these pattens prevent us from thriving and living life in the way we may wish.

I offer once weekly 50 minute sessions for us to meet and confidentially discuss the things that are on your mind. The sessions have no set agenda and we can think together about the, experiences, thoughts, and feelings that you bring; and the experience of the therapy and of me. This can lead to a deeper understanding of the challenges that affect you and offer different ways of being.

I offer a free initial 30 minute session so we can think about what you may need and whether I am best suited to help you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

GROUP

I conduct groups that run once or twice weekly for 90 minutes, with up to eight people. Group members often come with a range of experiences and difficulties, finding a sense of community and understanding between one another.

Members often find deep connections with one another, despite potential misgivings about opening up in front of others. Members report finding mutual support and relief in others understanding their experiences, with the benefit of a variety of viewpoints. They can gain from being able to help others and offer their thoughts.

I am there to help the group to think about what may be going on for the members and the group in the moment.

I am starting a twice weekly, low fee, group that will run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 19:30-21:00.

£25 a session.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an experienced UKCP registered psychotherapist. I studied at the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA), London; I maintain full membership of the IGA and the Group Analytic Society International (GASi).

I work in private practice in the Brighton and Hove area. Alongside this I work as a psychotherapist in the NHS with patients who have experienced complex relational trauma who struggle to manage their emotions and relationships. I have extensive experience working therapeutically with traumatised adolescents in care and education settings.
