About me

I am an experienced BACP registered psychodynamic psychotherapist working in person in East London and online offering ongoing (open-ended) and short-term (12-16 Sessions) therapy to adults of all ages on a one to one basis.

At times life is challenging and you might be feeling anxious, depressed or experiencing a significant life event such as bereavement, end of a relationship or redundancy. You might simply feel dissatisfied and want to understand yourself better.

Therapy can be a transformative and rewarding experience. I will help you explore any issues which might be concerning you: current and historic life events, feelings, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. This process will help you to more fully understand yourself, ultimately allowing you to take greater control and live a life that feels more authentic, connected and fulfilling.

Getting Started With Psychotherapy

Beginning the process of psychotherapy can be daunting. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation where we can discuss what's going on for you, what you hope to gain from therapy and answer any questions you may have about the process. This call provides an opportunity for you to gain a better understanding of how I work with no obligation to take things further. Call me on 07753 298053 or send an email and I will aim to get back to you within 12 hours. Alternatively you can simply click the Book intro call link and arrange the initial call online.

How I work

My approach is psychodynamic. I will work with you to help resolve your difficulties by not only exploring your conscious thoughts, feelings and experiences, but also those you may not be fully aware of, and which may be having an impact on your life. I will listen to you carefully and thoughtfully, and provide empathic space where you can freely explore and gain better understanding of your feelings, thoughts and experiences in depth. I offer you the support to gain valuable self-expression and reflection on your life.

I am experienced in working with a wide range of life issues such as:

Anxiety
Depression
Relationship and family difficulties
Loss and Bereavement
Low self-esteem

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
