About me

Becoming a counsellor, resilience coach, inspirational speaker and mental health advocate was something that I’d set my heart on many years ago as I wanted others to see, hear and recognise that as tragic as some of my life events have been, that I have overcome the hurdles and hurts.

As a counsellor (face to face or online) I draw upon vast knowledge & experience when helping others. My passion comes from my early life of ill mental health & the tormented life that followed. It wasn’t until 1999 that I embarked on last resort therapy, knowing that if I didn’t, my life would extinguish itself but instead, I turned my life around. 20 years on, I have dedicated my studies/work-life to gaining extensive knowledge & experience in mental health, using my life experience to enhance my work. I have written successful mental health programmes used currently in schools called ‘Safeguarding Me’ to give children the awareness, confidence & opportunity to discuss mental health openly. My first book 'Daddy & The Two Bears' (Published March 2021) retells the lived-out experience of losing twin daughters from a male perspective, including how I navigated the emotional journey of Michelle’s pregnancy & the birth whilst also dealing with my own mental health issues & traumas. The aim of the book is to inform & open conversation for Dad, their partners, family members, medical professionals & counsellors - anyone who would gain insight into such a tragic time.

Before becoming a counsellor, I qualified & worked with young people with extreme behavioural issues. I also trained and worked as a Close Protection Officer and Self Defence Instructor, working in hostile environments around the world.
