About me

Hello, I am a fully qualified Counsellor and a member of the BACP and National Counselling Society. I have trained for four years and have gained my diploma in Therapeutic counselling and achieved CPCAB level 5. I have several years counselling experience. I have worked with predominately but not limited to Autism, ADHD, Addiction, Rape, Self harm, Menopause, Anxiety, PTSD, Child sex abuse, Depression, OCD, Domestic violence, LGBTQ, Trauma, Self esteem issues, Childhood violence and Neglect. I also work for another organisation dealing with many issues. I am passionate about promoting mental health wellness and I feel I can aid others gain a better understanding of themselves. I believe I can offer compassion and have lots of life experiences including a personal insight into ADHD, ASD, Addiction challenges and the stresses of single parenting. I have worked with lots of ASD and ADHD clients and especially enjoy promoting awareness and support in this area as many individuals struggle without diagnosis and understanding.  I have recently attended an intensive 2 day course on assessment of ADHD and diagnosis. I am based in Downend and i offer a safe space to explore your needs on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I also work online. My approach is integrative person centred and I believe we all have the ability to self heal given the right understanding, empathy, acceptance and encouragement. We all have our unique story and deserve to be heard. I have over 7,000 plus clinical hours experience and have worked with many clients successfully. I work with lots of neurodiverse teenagers as well as adults to help in understanding themselves. As a neurodiverse individual I really appreciate some of the difficulties faced first hand. I facilitate a support group for neurodiversity and addiction. I have knowledge of the 12 step programme  and I feel this also helps with my client's journey of enlightenment.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
