About me

Hello, I am a fully qualified Counsellor and a member of the BACP and National Counselling Society. I have trained for four years and have gained my diploma in Therapeutic counselling level four. I have experience of working with addiction and trauma clients and I also work for another organisation dealing with many issues bringing counselling at a low cost rate. This is something that resonates greatly with myself as there were times I needed to access affordable therapy and unfortunately it wasn't always available. I am passionate about promoting mental health wellness and I feel I can aid others gain a better understanding of themselves. I believe I can offer compassion and have lots of life experiences including a personal insight into ADHD, ASD spectrum challenges and the stresses of single parenting. I have a room based in St Andrews as well as Downend that can offer a safe space to explore your needs on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. My approach is person centred and I believe we all have the ability to self heal given the right understanding, empathy, acceptance and encouragement. We all have our unique story and deserve to be heard. I have over 900 plus clinical hours experience. My website is https://www.fionahaydencounselling.com

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
