About me

There are many counsellors available but finding the right one for you is important. I am a qualified therapist and have experience in working with adults, adolescents and couples with a wide range of issues. I offer my clients warmth and a safe space to explore difficulties whilst helping them to find the best way forward. Please feel free to call me and you can decide if you would like to book an appointment.

I am an integrative therapist which means I use different modalities including CBT and humanistic therapies. My core approach is person-centred because I believe the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship between the client and counsellor - if the therapeutic relationship is good then you will feel safe and comfortable sharing your feelings with someone you trust.

I make it my priority to put you at ease and offer you a space where you can be yourself and share your innermost worries and fears.

I understand the complexity of being human and have respect for my clients' individuality and life circumstances.

I offer you true empathy and understanding and listen without judgement. I will challenge you where needed and help you to thrive in life, despite the issues that have brought you to counselling.

I am a registered member of the BACP and have experience with a diverse range of clients including adults, adolescents, couples and LGBTQ+ with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family problems, abuse, anger, health anxiety, social anxiety, self-esteem, sexuality, grief, reduced confidence, work-related stress, addiction, sexual issues, trauma and many more.

As well as my private practice, I have counselled families in crisis at Southend Borough Council and worked for a local homeless project helping addicts in recovery. I have also worked as a school counsellor at a local secondary school.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
