About me

Please contact me for an initial no obligation discussion. I can discuss what your needs or areas of focus are and the best medium to work through for you (face-face, zoom or telephone). I offer concessions for students, key workers and those that are financially challenged at present.

How can I help??

Finding the right counsellor for you can be an overwhelming task and it can be hard to know what to look for when searching. Having a positive relationship with your therapist, underpinned by respect, trust and empathy without fear of judgement is absolutely vital and I hope to always offer people these conditions and try and understand life in your shoes in order to work out what would best help you move forwards. I have huge respect for anyone who seeks counselling to work on something which they are finding difficult and know the courage it takes to make this move... I’ve been there myself, and it has made me realise how life changing Counselling can be.

Now, more than ever before, there are times in life where things may feel too much, overwhelming, anxiety provoking, stressful or difficult to navigate alone. During the Covid-19 pandemic, anxiety levels have been at an all time high.

Whether it be difficulty coping with this, or a particular circumstance or situation, an ongoing problem which you are finally ready to work through or a desire to improve certain aspects of your life and how you are feeling, I can help.

I have experience working with specific difficulties such as anxiety, panic, depression, self-harm, self-esteem issues, phobias, PTSD, bereavement and loss, bullying, anger management issues, Coping with chronic health conditions, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, family issues and relationship difficulties.

I also offer help to those who simply wish to make positive improvements in their life or simply seek someone to talk to and make sense of their experiences together.

I am here to offer a confidential, empathic and non-judgemental space where you are safe to talk about how you are feeling and what you may be experiencing. My current experience has been with both adults and teenagers. I am a trained Cruse Bereavement Counsellor and School Counsellor. I have a small, private home-based practice and also offer online services.

Please reach out..

If you need someone to listen and are ready to reach out, please contact me. I aim to approach any person who is seeking to help themselves through difficulty with kindness, compassion and care. I will not judge you, I will listen and establish what brings you to Counselling and aim to help facilitate positive changes in your life or aid a journey of greater self awareness or arm you with the tools to navigate difficult situations or feelings. You are never alone.

Training, qualifications & experience

How do I work?

I have spent the past four years studying and training to be a qualified Counsellor. I am trained integratively, which means I am able to use and explore theory and tools from different modalities such as CBT, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Creative Therapy and more.

I use the Person-Centered principles of being honest, non-judgmental and Empathic as the basis of all Counselling and strongly believe that all people are "good" and capable of reaching their full potential. I integrate tools from other modalities based on requirements and suitability.

Previous Experience

I previously worked as a supporter for the IAPT online mental health support service "SilverCloud". So am able to understand and use the tools which the NHS use for specific difficulties such as anxiety, depression, panic disorders, Body Dysmorphia etc.

I have worked in a Senior School in Essex for a year offering Counselling to young people aged between 11-18.

I have supported Cruse Bereavement Care offering home visits and telephone counselling for many clients of all ages.

Prior to my Counselling training, my background was primarily working with young people in schools, particularly those with special educational needs. I have a degree in Journalism so understand the pressures of these particular environments as well as the difficulties many individuals experience at University.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

Sometimes, individuals who find it difficult to leave the house or find the idea of face to face counselling intimidating may feel more comfortable trying telephone or Zoom Counselling to begin with. There are certain considerations that must be made surrounding this medium, which we can discuss

Please do not hesitate to contact me by email or by phone on 07821754389 if you would like to have an informal discussion about your situation and needs. We can then establish together what the best style of Counselling would be for you, and move forward from there.
