About me

I am a very experienced, trained and qualified Integrative Counsellor, who works primarily as a Person-Centred counsellor on issues such as bereavement, anxiety, depression, low worth, suicidal ideation, relationships and those past events in our lives that are hidden, buried away and yet still drive how we feel about ourselves.

How I work

I am open, easy to talk to and empathetic, which hopefully means you will gain trust in me and feel safe enough to talk through those issues (Present or past) that are causing you mental and emotional distress. You won't be interrupted, talked at or have exercises to work through, you will have time and space to talk, to think, to feel and talk again.

There will be no judgement of you or what you bring, only acceptance of who you are and have been.

I will provide an online space that is safe, confidential and a relationship where you can choose to allow your emotions out, to say those words that you can't to others, to take a breath, to process your thoughts and emotions and begin to put your mental health and distresses into a different perspective by growing a greater self-awareness of who you really are.

Practise and sessions

My practise is online (Zoom) or telephone-based, allowing you the flexibility to attend sessions wherever you are - at home, at work, away, in the car.

Sessions are 50 minutes long, once a week for as long as you wish to continue.

I will 'check-in' with you and how you're feeling at the beginning of a session and a 'check-out' at the end of a session.

My sessions are open and fairly unstructured, allowing you to explore your presenting issue, your past, or whatever is on your mind this week. Chances are, your presenting issue won't be the only one that crops up in sessions.

I will offer a space where you can express yourself, your emotions/thoughts and be vulnerable openly and honestly.

I won't tell you what to do, think or feel, that is your choice. Nor can I fix you, but perhaps I can help you to find the answers that are right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
