About me

I have been working as a Counsellor for many years. I am a qualified and experienced individual and couples counsellor. I specialise in relationships and sex, relationship issues, marriage counselling, historic sexual abuse, abuse in all forms, rape and violence, mental health, post traumatic stress disorder, current or ex forces personnel, anxiety, depression, generalised anxiety conditions, well-being support, work related stress, death and bereavement. I trained in these subjects as I want you to feel supported at a time when you are most vulnerable. I appreciate that these subjects are very difficult to talk about but with time, care and attention we can get through any difficulties together to develop healthy and positive ways to manage and cope with whatever life has, or is throwing at you. You are not on your own.

Although these are my specialist areas I welcome everyone and will work with whatever is making you feel sad, distressed or stuck. By talking your issues or concerns through in a confidential and positive environment you can develop new ways of looking at a situation or relationship and as a result learn to manage this in a more beneficial way. See the list below for areas I counsel.

I know it can feel scary asking for help (I've been a client myself) but the benefit you get from offloading your life challenges onto someone who is there to listen and help you is well worth it. I hope to see shoulders come down from around your ears and a sense of calm and confidence start to take over. You've got this!

I am an Integrative Counsellor with emphasis on Person Centred theory. I tailor fit my counselling approach to meet your needs, goals, time scales and your personality.

In response to Covid and the rising costs for all of us I am working online, by telephone or seeing people in my therapy room in my home, or doing home visits only. This means I do not have to put my prices up as I am not hiring rooms to work from.

The platforms I work on are Skype, Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, WhatsApp video or telephone.

I am successfully working on these online platforms with my individuals and couples. Many are reporting that they are happy with this and are finding positives in being comfortable talking in their own homes and not caught up in rush hour traffic or having to pay for parking etc. Not to mention you can have your favourite hot drink in your favourite cup whilst talking to me!

If you are experiencing difficulties leaving your home due to an existing condition such as Agoraphobia, ME, CFS, a physical impairment, mobility difficulties  or PTSD,  home appointments can be arranged in South Wales.

I want counselling to be affordable and therefore I pride myself in providing high quality counselling at affordable prices.

Make some time to focus on you and do something today that your future self will thank you for! I look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
