About me
Hello my name is Deborah and I am a very empathic, 'down to earth' type, relaxed, non - judgemental and friendly person. I take pride in helping people with their life problems and assist them in a safe place that is confidential to explore their thoughts and feelings, to find a path that may enhance their lives, or allow them to work a way out if they feel in a 'stuck' place.
I am an Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist and I practice with a Humanistic approach, using CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), gestalt, Existential, multicultural and Psychodynamic theories amongst other methods, together with a vast experience of individual problems allowing me a comprehensive understanding of individuals who are all unique and have diverse and different orientations and backgrounds.
I adhere to the ethical framework and moral principles of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Training, qualifications & experience
I am fully qualified with an Advanced level 4 Diploma in Humanistic theories and practice, an FDA level 5 in counselling and Psychotherapy. I have an BA Hons Degree in Integrative Counselling studies.
I have worked for three years with Cruse bereavement agency and have helped many people with loss. All ages, cultures and sexual orientations.
Working along side a secondary school for a year and a half has also been a worthwhile experience, where I have sat with young people from the age of 12 to 16 years old and helped them get through many difficult life issues and have witnessed them grow with confidence and satisfactory empowerment of self.
I have as well as work privately, worked in a drugs and alcohol agency for three years for WDP/CRI, helping substance abuse clients get through some difficult and troubling times.
I am fully insured.
I am honoured to have had many experiences in assisting in helping people to help themselves and have felt humbled to watch them create the lives they want to live.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I am currently offering 45 minutes for £30 via Skype, wattsapp facetime or telephone counselling as one to one is not available given the Covid19 virus dilemma.
