About me

You know something needs to change, but find it hard to understand how or when that will happen. In our work together, I will gradually invite you to safely explore and resolve the deeper issues which underpin the problems you face.  If we feel it would be helpful, we can also develop strategies to tackle things in the short term– impacting the ‘here and now’ while we build the foundations for longer lasting change. My counselling style is client led, open and relaxed.

Why are you seeking support to heal and grow? There are many reasons people seek support through counselling and psychotherapy.  You may be experiencing anxiety, sadness, fear or anger. You may be overwhelmed and stressed, feel like nothing you do is ever quite good enough or that things are out of control. You may be trying to come to terms with difficult events in your past or present, or struggling with creating or maintaining nourishing relationships. If the above sounds familiar, lets connect and explore how we can work together.

How can I help you? Our sessions together can help deepen your self-insight to give you the skills, clarity and grounding you need to thrive.  Alongside this form of person-centred psychodynamic therapy,  I also offer the Rewind technique, a way to reprocess and let go of for past traumatic events. When appropriate, I also draw on and offer support in line with the ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy) approach. This incorporates mindfulness and value orientated action.

Can things get better? I believe you have the seeds of change within you (but I know it doesn't always feel that way). I also believe you are ready to leave your fears and frustrations behind.

You have already taken a big step in beginning to look for a therapist. When you are ready to take the next, I invite you reach out to me via email or phone.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
