About me

[Currently only accepting new referrals for IN-PERSON sessions in EDINBURGH, Morningside, for psychosexual and relationship therapy for individuals and partners/couples on MONDAY mornings.

Waiting list available for those who want online sessions.]

What if you could experience pleasurable sex without worries, pain, shame, or sexual function difficulties? What if you could be supported in healing from sexual trauma? From betrayals and affairs? What if you could set healthy boundaries and communicate your needs and preferences in your relationship(s)? What if you could explore and enjoy your sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity, sexual desire, relationship style, and eroticism? What if you could handle conflicts differently in your relationship?

Perhaps you don’t know what’s wrong but you’re feeling unsettled, sad, anxious, confused, or stressed about sex and/or your relationship(s). Perhaps you've identified beliefs or past experiences that stop you from enjoying intimacy. You might have put on a happy mask for too long and you’re exhausted. I invite you to imagine how things could be different and, with this hope - no matter how small the hope might be-, I invite you to get in touch with me.

I understand how difficult it can be to seek support around sexual or relationship difficulties and how anxiety-provoking it can feel. Please know that we will go at your own pace while discussing these sensitive topics. If you're unsure that we are a good fit, please don't hesitate to ask me any question you might have by email and we can also arrange a first session to meet.

I work with everyone over the age of 18 years old and I welcome clients from the LGBTQ+ community, including trans and non-binary people, and people of diverse ethnical, religious, and cultural backgrounds. I work with people with chronic health conditions, neurodiversity, and disabilities, as well as people who are kinky or in ethically non-monogamous relationships.

PSYCHOSEXUAL SESSIONS aka Sex Therapy

I am a qualified counsellor training to become a psychosexual and relationship therapist. As part of my training, I offer sessions at the reduced rate of £55 for individuals (of all genders) and £70 for couples/partners experiencing the following issues:

- painful sex, vaginismus, dyspareunia, penetration difficulties, fear/pain of smear tests

- sexual anxiety and confidence issues

- premature/early ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, unreliable erections

- low or no desire (that's causing you distress)

- difficulties with orgasm and pleasure (anorgasmia)

- healing after sexual trauma

- wanting to understand your sexuality, turn-ons and turn-offs, fantasies, discrepancy between arousal and desire, beliefs about sex, wanting to experience more pleasure, etc.

- exploring and accepting your sexual orientation and/or gender identity (please note I do not practice any type of conversion therapy; we will work in an affirming way)

- compulsive sexual behaviours (sexual behaviours, solo or with partner(s), that feel out of control and may be a sign of addiction)

- infertility, fertility journeys, miscarriages, loss, IVF journey, etc.

- relationship difficulties: wanting to improve communication or conflict management, dealing with affairs or betrayals, handling changes and disclosures, working on sexual difficulties, conflicting values, opening up the relationship, wanting to reconnect, wanting to learn more relationship skills, increasing emotional and physical intimacy, etc.

I work inclusively and I welcome people of all gender identities, all sexual orientations, all sexual preferences including kink and BDSM. I welcome sex workers; I am trained to work on the topics of sex, intimacy, and relationships with people who have chronic health conditions or who are neurodivergent; I welcome monogamous individuals and individuals who are non-monogamous or polyamourous.

How I will work with you.

It can be overwhelming to choose a counsellor. I respect the courage it takes to seek counselling and be vulnerable. I aim to create a warm, trusting, and compassionate space where you can feel safe to be yourself and talk openly. I will help you explore what is getting in the way of your wellbeing and growth. When it comes to psychosexual and relationship therapy, I might suggest exercises for you to do at home if you feel comfortable with that.

Who I am.

I am a queer woman from France with a background in community education and social work. I spent 9 years in Scotland working for charities, studying to become a counsellor and setting up my private practice. I then spent 2 years in Cambridge before moving back to Scotland. I have a background in working with people who are experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety, difficulties with boundaries and assertiveness, shame and guilt, sex and relationship difficulties, loss of meaning and purpose, PTSD or C-PTSD, insecure attachment styles, existential questions, affairs and betrayals, and difficult life transitions. I have years of experience working with survivors of trauma, domestic abuse, childhood abuse or neglect, and sexual violence, though this is not an exhaustive list. I work a lot with the queer community and with people who are ethically non-monogamous or considering opening up their relationship.

I believe in the importance of developing self-compassion and of working with the whole you. I will ask you empathetic questions so that we can explore your thoughts, your beliefs about yourself and others, your emotions, your strengths and values, your behaviours, and the sensations in your body. We will go at your own pace and you will decide what you want to work on.

Individual sessions last up to 50 minutes and couple/relationship therapy sessions last up to 60 minutes. During the first session, we will go over the confidentiality agreement and it will be a space for you to ask questions and decide if I'm the right counsellor for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative counsellor which means I will work in a tailored way, using different counselling approaches, to find what works for you and what doesn’t. I have a counselling diploma with a cognitive-behavioural therapy approach, and I also work in a person-centred, body-based, and trauma-informed way. I'm also a trainee sex and relationship therapist.

I'm trained to work online, in-person, and to offer outdoors walk and talk therapy sessions (currently not available).

I'm currently studying a postgraduate diploma in clinical sexology to become a qualified psychosexual and relationship therapist and am offering psychosexual therapy and/or relationship therapy sessions to individuals and partners.

I'm a registered member with BACP and COSRT and follow their code of ethics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
