About me

Hello, you might be wondering how to choose a therapist, and what approach is right for you, hopefully this will help you identify if my approach is most suitable:

I offer a creative approach; it can help if you or someone in your family finds it difficult to put your thoughts and feelings into words. I often work with metaphor and symbolism; using play, arts and movement may help you address or process difficult feelings or experiences.

You don't have to be 'creative' for this therapeutic approach, there is no expectation to produce a piece of art. In fact, the resources aim be soothing; we all have self-soothing tendencies, and the resources can help calm your body down or act as a distraction as you explore difficult experiences/emotions.

Creative therapy can help you to get difficult emotions out of your body. I work at your pace and initially we focus on creating a safe space and trusting relationship. I aim to draw upon my different skills and see which ones best suit your needs.

Children and young people find play useful because it is their natural form of communication; children are invited to express themselves safely and learn new coping strategies. While others may need help recognising their emotions, managing them, and/or communicating them. Emotional development is key within play therapy as I often work with children at different developmental stages.

I trained in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, this follows a filial therapy model, designed for children facing behavioural, emotional, social and attachment difficulties. This is a 10-session parent programme, centred around play  techniques and strengthening the child-parent bond. You will learn how to use therapeutic language and techniques to communicate with your child and understand their inner world. You will be empowered to practice these at home with your child. These are transferable skills that can be applied at various stages of development.

I offer parent workshops; this will help you learn about psychology, development and introduce you to different strategies to help with; emotional distress, change, managing sibling conflict, transitions, relationships, neurodivergence and/or loss.

If you'd like further information please don't hesistate to contact me on the information provide.
