About me
I fully understand how difficult looking for help from someone we have never met can be. I believe that the relationship between us is the fundamental part of the healing process, so it has to feel right/safe/comfortable, and only you can decide this for you.
Sometimes we don't know what's wrong, we just don't feel ok, or like 'ourself', or sometimes we are aware that certain events or relationships have had an impact on us, but can't see how to move beyond this . This is where therapy is entirely different from any relationship we experience and why it can be so effective in helping us to make sense of 'stuff'. Having a trusted 'other' to sit with us in it and try to work out what is going on.
I work relationally and creatively with my clients; drawing on my training, experience, and self, to ensure that I meet each client individually and in a way that feels right for them. I currently work with individuals over 18, in a wide variety of areas, including but not exclusively, developmental trauma, work/family issues, relationship endings or rupture, self-harm and suicidality, self-esteem, depression or/and anxiety, sexual assault or abuse, sexuality, bereavement and much more.
I aim to be a compassionate observer to whatever is going on for you and causing difficulty in your life, and to work alongside you to build self-awareness and understanding as to where the roots of these problems may stem from. In doing so, I hope to be able to help you move out of unhelpful thought patterns, feelings, and behaviours, and into a more self-accepting, comfortable, happier place in your life.
I personally see our early attachments as hugely significant through our lives, playing out in every relationship we have, be that with family, friends, children, things, food, alcohol, drugs, work, or ourselves. We all have our 'stuff' and it can get in the way sometimes.
I would encourage you to visit my website (above) to find out a bit more about me, and to get further answers to questions you might have about therapy.
So that you can get a feel for how I am and how I work, I offer a free 30 minute initial conversation (either by phone/on-line or face to face) to give you the chance to see how it might feel to come to therapy with me, and whether we think we are a good fit for each other.
It's incredibly brave (and very difficult) to take that first step to reach out for help, but it can be the thing that transforms us and our lives.
Why not contact me and start your process today.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
