About me

PLEASE NOTE :  Currently working online and via telephone only.

*Proud to be an inclusive friendly therapist*

I specialise in ADHD counselling and management of symptoms and also have experience working with adults who have 'later in life' diagnosis, which I appreciate can be a very complex experience to go through alone.

About Me and my Background:
(Pronouns: She/ Her).

I am an accredited and experienced integrative counsellor / psychotherapist and therapeutic supervisor. I can work using several different modalities including DIT ( Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy), and work using core modalities such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Humanistic theory and Psychodynamic theory.

I’m trained in both long term and short-term therapeutic settings, as well as using online therapies or resources, telephone counselling and using services such as Skype or Zoom. I also work using mediums such as email to help work with and support those who may be hard of hearing or have accessibility issues.

I have been working in the industry since 2007 and have an extensive history of working with a large diversity of clients including children, adolescents and adults. I am an experienced CAMHS therapist, as well as working with adults within both the private and public sector. I have experience working within the NHS IAPT sector, including working with long- term health conditions, working within the crisis intervention sector, as well as working alongside specialist services including the armed forces and ex-offender services.

I have experience working with key workers and frontline staff throughout the Covid19 pandemic, as well as working with communities affected by distressing and traumatic events.

Through my career I have set up multiple charity based support groups and services, including services for refugees, personality disorders, and groups for those hearing voices. I have appeared in several media campaigns regarding mental health and have held radio and TV interviews with news channels.

I understand the past year may have particularly left feelings of isolation, sadness and anxiety amongst other things and its completely understandable to feel overwhelmed and not sure what to do with these feelings. I'm a big advocate for normalising and validating our own personal experiences, and equally, I am passionate about supporting people through their issues.

I fully appreciate how difficult it can be to open up to others about how you are truly feeling and would like to reassure you that I have a strong ethos in ensuring a safe , warm and accessible environment for all my clients.

Please do feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or queries.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
