About me

About Me and my Background
I am an accredited and experienced integrative counsellor and counselling supervisor with good knowledge of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Humanistic theory and Psychodynamic theory.

Trained in both long term and short-term therapeutic settings, as well as using online therapies or resources, telephone counselling and using services such as Skype or Zoom.

I possess experience working within the NHS IAPT sector, including working with long- term health conditions, working within the crisis intervention sector, as well as working alongside specialist services including the armed forces and ex-offender services.

I have been working in the industry since 2007 and have an extensive history of working with a large diversity of clients including children, adolescents and adults. I am an experienced CAMHS therapist, as well as working with adults within both the private and public sector.

I have experience working with key workers and frontline staff throughout the Covid19 pandemic, as well as working with communities affected by distressing and traumatic events.

Through my career I have set up multiple charity based support groups and services, including services for refugees, personality disorders, and groups for those hearing voices. I have appeared in several media campaigns regarding mental health and have held radio and TV interviews with news channels.

I am passionate about supporting people through their issues and appreciate how difficult it can be to open up to others about how you are truly feeling. Please do feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or queries.

Accreditation and Insurance
I am fully accredited by both the National Counselling Society ( NCS ) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am fully insured and have completed several extra training courses on data security and management in line with GDPR.

I offer one to one counselling currently and currently have availability for online or telephone work at flexible times.

[ Please note I am currently not offering face to face appointments ]

I offer reduced rates for those experiencing employment based hardship.

I work with a wide range of issues and work with both adults and children/adolescents.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
