About me

Hello, my name is Carole Morgan. My past career was nursing and now I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have had clients in Cruse, Weston Hospice, All Healthy Living Centre, Broadway Lodge, New Dawn, Reclaim and am now self-employed. I am married and have 2 grown-up children.

I am very aware that people are anxious about many things these days.  I therefore offer a free introductory 10 minute call if people would like to discuss counselling with me.

Why choose me as your counsellor?

I am a friendly, competent counsellor who has a great deal of counselling and life experience. I am sensitive and intuitive, believing that our relationship is the medium for effective counselling. I work in a person-centred way using CBT, mindfulness, relaxation, imagery, transactional analysis, gestalt, and psychoanalysis. I am well trained and have a lot to offer.

How does counselling work?

I aim to see things from your point of view. I want to help you understand yourself more and empower you to make effective choices that will bring about positive change. I can give you hope that your problems are not the end because there is hope on the horizon.

Do not give up - there are new ways of viewing yourself and your situation. I will not judge you but listen to you, responding with effective questions and responses accompanied by warmth and honesty. You may wonder why you have never had counselling before. I offer you an intuitive, professional and reassuring relationship that can give you hope and courage. Please contact me today.

What is the next step?

On meeting you I will greet you warmly, provide a comfortable chair and room and try to reassure you that you have come to a safe and friendly place. I will explain how I work and answer any of your queries. I would like you to tell me why you have come and what help you would like.

Counselling is then at first offered weekly or fortnightly. This constitutes the counselling contract.

How much will it cost?

My reduced charge of £40 per counselling session is due to the present COVID-19 virus. Concessions are possible.

Where will I see you?

I have a comfortable counselling room (but can use other accommodation for disability access) with an outlook onto my garden. There is free parking with bus routes nearby. Due to the nature of the business, I ask you to understand that I am not always instantly available to answer your call. Please leave your details with me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.

You can call or text me on 07799 251790 or click here to send me an email.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
