Carol Shields, MBACP (Reg), Dip.Therapeutic Counselling, Oak Tree Counselling
We all have times in our lives when things can feel overwhelming and day-to-day life can seem like a struggle, and things we once enjoyed feel unrewarding. This may have come about because of a specific issue or from a general change in mood or stress level. As a Therapist, I can help you examine and understand these issues and how they make you feel. Together we can work to bring you back to a point where your life will feel more manageable and give you the tools and strategies to help you cope better!
I'm a genuine person who gets along with lots of different people, and who can reach depths of a therapeutic nature that bring about cathartic sustainable change in people's lives. I believe you are the expert in the room and I will refrain from judging you in any way. You are a unique individual who has adapted to what life has thrown at you!

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
