About me
It's hard to know who to turn to when you’re feeling overwhelmed, worn out or lost, struggling with thoughts, relationships or events. I’ll welcome you as a unique human being, not an issue, a problem, or a diagnosis. I’ll do my best to see the world through your eyes and not my own.
You’ve taken a brave step already - I’d love to work with you and offer you a safe space. I work from quiet and comfortable premises just across from Haymarket Station in Edinburgh. Easy to get to by public transport and the building itself is accessible.
I will provide you with a warm and accepting environment where you can talk about whatever issue you want to bring. Counselling can help, please don’t suffer alone, contact me by phone or email.
Training, qualifications & experience
I qualified in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Aberdeen in 2023 after completing a Certificate in Counselling Skills in 2020 at Edinburgh College. I’ve been in practice since early 2022 when I joined Carers of East Lothian on a training placement. I have experience volunteering on support helplines and as a befriender for sight-loss charities since 2011. I’ve worked in private practice since my graduation last year. I am a Registered Member of a counselling ethical body (NCPS) am fully insured and have regular supervision.
Before re-training as a therapist, I worked in the museums and heritage sector for 30 years. A health crisis gave me the opportunity to stop and consider my personal priorities. I now do the kind of work I truly enjoy and feel a connection with. I offer you as my client the gift of myself, my skills and knowledge and my lived experience.
