About me

Experienced Psychotherapist specialising in Anxiety and Work Related Stress.

Sometimes life throws us a curved ball and we can face difficult and challenging situations which at first may seem daunting even overwhelming. I genuinely believe however that we all have the strength  to face these situations and with the right kind of help can eventually come to terms with them.

What can you expect?

In  working together we will be able to  develop a better understanding of your issues. From here  you will then  be able to approach your problem in a new way, this could help you to get your life back on track again.

Prior to coming into the field of therapy, for many years I worked for a large multi national organisation and spent a lot of time travelling. By a peculiar twist of fate and a combination of circumstances I was inspired to change the direction of my own life. I knew I had the natural ability to listen to and support people from all cultures and walks of life- the next step came about organically and I found myself searching and seeking out information on how to become a Counsellor. That was many years ago and since then I have worked in a variety of settings and have helped many people work though difficult life situations whom as a result now lead healthier more connected lives.

Finding your way through the Counselling Maze...

One of the things I found most disconcerting when I was doing my research on Counselling and deciding in which model I might train, was feeling bamboozled by the huge variety of choice and 'schools of counselling'. I seemed to be put off by too many choices whilst at the same time not really understanding what they all meant and how I could possibly learn and appreciate them in order to ultimately pass on the benefits to my clients.

Through this profile therefore, I really want to provide you with information which is informative, practical and easy to understand. I use an Integrative Model of Therapy and this type of approach falls under the heading of "Humanistic Therapies'. It's an experiential therapy which means I work in the here and now , treating the whole person and working with their potential to grow in mind, body and spirit.

Taking the first step ...

If you have come this far you are probably looking to change or resolve a situation in your life that's troubling you. I believe that the first step to making a change is to acknowledge that you are ready to seek help. Just by reading on you are taking a hugely positive step in the right direction. That said it can still feel unnerving to reach out and seek help for many different reasons.

Often people become entrenched in past problems and life experiences which are still impacting on present day life and which are preventing them from living life to the full. In most cases dealing with past issues allows us to close the book on them and therefore frees us up to experience life as it is right now. In many cases we are unable to change life circumstances, often what therapy can do is to help you change your relationship to these circumstances. This usually allows you to move on.

For me I work with treating people not their problems and I work hard with my clients to build and maintain a therapeutic relationship which is built on mutual trust and understanding. I have undertaken my own  journey of personal  growth and self discovery  and have worked through  many challenging life situations  and I  expect to have to do this again in my lifetime.  I  see this journey  as a 'work in progress'. I know how scary this can feel at the outset to take the first tentative step towards making a change.

Taking the next step ...

Please do get in touch if you would like to try a 'fresh approach to your wellbeing'  which could help to change  something within you and of how you are relating  with your life  predicament. You can find out more about how I could help you by clicking onto my website. www.trustedtherapeutics.com

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
